Overview

Valour Rift has similar concept of the King's Gauntlet tower. Yes, you will need to climb the tower

To understand the mechanism of this area, I will use an analogy to make it easier.

Imagine you have to run up the tower every morning. but as you are still a beginner you run slowly and in short distance since your stamina is still low and you need to go back before it gets dark.

However as you keep climbing the tower, you get better. You can control your breathing better, your stamina is getting stronger thus you can climb higher. If you are running out of steps, you can get floor cache which contains a tower loots. The higher you climb, the more cache reward you get.

That is how it works.

Upgrades

At first you only have limited number of hunts and you do one step each hunt.

However you can upgrade yourself using the mice loots inside the tower.

Please refer to the Upgrade table for details of each upgrade and its requirement.

Boosters

Champion's Fire is also available to boost yourself. You can activate this inside the tower to increase loot number when found. While in the tower, it will also boost +1 step each catch.

You can also boost yourself before entering the tower.

Refer to the Augmentation table below for the details

Walkthrough Guide

1. Accessing Valour Rift

Chart the Valour Rift
Purchase a Rift Chronometer from the Bristle Woods Rift Cartographer
Loot Rift Distortions from Rift Walker or Rift Stalker mice
Exchange 2,000 distortions for the Valour Rift Map Piece at the Bristle Woods Rift

In order to gain access to Valour Rift, hunters need to purchase Valour Rift Map Piece from the Bristle Woods Rift - Cartographer for 2,000 Rift Distortion

Purchase a Rift Chronometer from the Bristle Woods Rift - Cartographer to begin collecting the Rift Distortion from any Rift mouse.

2. Entering the area

Obtain Gauntlet String Cheese
Obtain a Gauntlet Elixir in the Valour Rift
Use an Elixir to purchase Gauntlet String Cheese from the Cheese Shoppe

You will start outside the tower.

You can hunt outside the tower to collect Gauntlet Elixir which is required to craft Gauntlet String Cheese or you can just enter the tower.

Gauntlet String Cheese is used to attract Terrified Adventurer Mouse which will double your step up the stairs when you catch it.

For now, let's enter the Tower

3. Collect Tower Sigil

Enter the Rift Gauntlet Tower
Enter the Rift Gauntlet Tower and reach Floor 2 or higher
Claim a floor cache

Inside the tower, the first thing you need to do here is to collect Tower Sigil by catching any mouse.

Our first target is to get 260 Tower Sigil in total to upgrade both your Speed and Sync to level 2.

Again, please refer to the Upgrade table for details

Confront the Shade of the Eclipse
Upgrade your Speed
Reach Floor 8 of the Rift Gauntlet Tower
Catch Shade of the Eclipse Mouse

At the 8th floor, you can catch Shade of the Eclipse Mouse.
There is no special setup to catch this one. You can even use Brie String Cheese to do it.

It is recommended to activate Champion's Fire when you are hunting at floor 8 to get additional loot.

You get a Fragment of the Eclipse from catching this mouse which is another material loot required to upgrade yourself or for activating high-level augmentation later.

5. Hunt in floor 9 and upward

End the Total Eclipse
Upgrade your Speed to level 4
Upgrade your Sync to level 3
Upgrade your Siphon to level 3

As you progress in this area, you will notice that start looting Tower Secrets.

This item is dropped by mice starting from floor 9.

Use this item to upgrade your Speed and Sync to level 4.

6. Reach floor 25 to unlock Ultimate Umbra augmentation

Reaching floor 25 is no easy feat.

You need to keep upgrading your Speed, Sync and Siphon by using the materials obtained from the Tower.

You can also give the Gauntlet String Cheese a try to reach higher floor every time you upgrade your Speed, Sync or Siphon to unlock more Augmentation to make the material collection easier and faster.

This might take a while though.

7. Catch The Total Eclipse Mouse

End the Total Eclipse
Reach Floor 25 or higher to unlock Ultimate Umbra
Activate Ultimate Umbra by using 75 Fragments of the Eclipse
Catch The Total Eclipse
Get a Core of the Eclipse

Once you have reached level 25, you can use Ultimate Umbra augmentation. It costs 75 Fragment of the Eclipse to activate it.

You can catch the boss mouse at floor 8, similar to Shade of the Eclipse Mouse, activate the Champion's Fire when you are hunting at this floor for additional loot

Congratulations! You have caught your first The Total Eclipse Mouse!!

Do not forget to claim your adventure book reward which unlocks the Valour Codex usage

Optional

Now that you have captured The Total Eclipse Mouse, the real adventure begins here.

As mentioned above, the main objective of this place is to upgrade yourself.

Keep hunting the boss mouse as all of these upgrades require Core of the Eclipse to purchase

You need in total 422 Core of the Eclipse to buy the RiftRift trap, base and all the Codex-es! Phew!!
For the cost details of the trap, base and codex-es, please check out the Valour Rift - Trapsmith and Valour Rift - General Store.

The Prestige Base has a special effect in this location to have more luck the higher you climb.
It starts from 5 Luck at floor 1, and it grows as you climb the tower.

An additional note about this base is the requirement list:

You can also buy Unstable Rift Core for 2 Core of the Eclipse to get random items from it, although it is not recommended unless you have completed the set above.

As for the Celestial Dissonance Trap, you need to have the Timesplit Dissonance Trap from the Bristle Woods Rift area.
