A hybrid of the common brown and white species of mouse, the Scruffy mouse is the black sheep of the indigenous family because of its stubborn refusal to observe good grooming practices. Rather than co-operate with other mice, the Scruffy uses its sheepdog-like appearance to its advantage, traveling behind packs of stray mutts in order to use their keen noses to find new sources of food.

To the naked eye, the Speedy Mouse is less of a mouse, and more of a brown blurry comet with a pink tail. There are very few case studies regarding their behavior, but those that exist are strange indeed. Take, for example, the testimony of one very disgruntled citizen: “Before I could call for help, those little varmints knocked me over, rifled through my pockets, bounced on muh belly and untied muh shoes.” Sometimes, even efficiency can be a bad thing.

Spotted mice enjoy the fresh air and solitude of long hikes in the countryside, and because they never stay in one place for long, they are rather unsure of themselves when it comes to making friends. These mice are ideal targets for beginning MouseHunters because, while they are fairly smart and physically fit, they lack the teamwork skills that other mice use to stay out of trouble.

No one is sure how one mouse managed to swallow a whole potato, but this is the result-- a bloated rodent prone to falling on its back. Unwilling to pass up food, even when they're still shaped like their last meal, Spud mice raid traps in order to hoard the cheese for later. Hunters have brought home large quantities of these mice by placing their traps at the bottom of a steep hill: Spud mice inevitably lose their balance while climbing them and roll to the bottom.

As the name suggests, the skin of this mouse is strong as steel. Less common than simple colored mice, the steel mouse is significantly harder to catch.

Tiny Mice have two major advantages over larger mice. First of all, a morsel of cheese can feed a Tiny Mouse for more than two weeks, unlike larger mice who gobble the cheese up as soon as they get it. Secondly, when they attack a trap, the weapon often misses them entirely, leaving them free to pursue the cheese. Stubbornness is the only reason Tiny Mice get caught at all. Once they win a piece of cheese, they won’t let it go, even if it’s five times their weight.

Within the Great Gnawnian Games, the mice practice a variety of different sports. Unfortunately for the trampoline team, the allotted space given for their setup lands them right in the middle of some of the more precarious events. Aside from focusing on their form, they often need to place a lot of effort in evading dangerous projectiles or even Robert, the lone Judo mouse who just really wants someone to practice on.

This mouse is ready to make a splash! The Wave Racer Mouse came at this from an interesting angle: She is prepared to play every sport ON the water! Maybe the messages got mixed up or maybe the Great Gnawnian Games are taking a brand new approach to aquatic athletics!

The white mouse is probably the most common mouse in these parts. They pose very little challenge and thus garner little reward. Great for the starting mouse hunter.

Ambitious for the Winter Games season, this mouse has enlisted in every competition available. Not one to waste precious time, he dons all of the required sporting apparel to immediately start the next event.

As you can see in this photo, he immediately launched from the ski jump straight into his curling run. I'd give him a 10.0!
