Even with all of the wisdom of the Laboratory scientists at their disposal, the town of Digby is scrambling to deal with all the cave-ins, punctures and ground tremors caused by the 'Triple B'. Where this mouse goes, a trail of churned-up earth follows, collapsing anything sitting on top of it, and because it pulls all of its cheesy victims underground, the Big Bad Burroughs mouse very seldom needs to show its head above the earth's surface. . . but when it does, you know it's angry.

The Digby scientists routinely take samples from the rocks surrounding their home, hoping to catch any emerging mouse tunnels that might be around. One day, as the scientists examined one of their latest samples, ears popped out of the top like folded sails, and a tail fell down from its bottom. It blinked and twitched its nose. Rumor has it that the geologist in question stomped on his hat and left the job site soon after this incident, saying: "Now they're everywhere."

Judged by the other mice to be too overzealous with the explosives to help with tunneling operations, Demolitions Mice blow trap mechanisms using piles of home-made dynamite that they place strategically along weak points. How do they make dynamite using the kinds of materials that mice typically get their hands on? Well, the recipe happens to be a closely guarded trade secret. If they told you, they'd have to pin a tail on you and cover you with fluff.

The Industrious Digger mice weren't always as industrious as their name suggests-- in fact, they used to be the biggest pack of slackers in all of Gnawnia. The Diggers even used to steal cheese from other mice, until someone convinced them that they could get rich quick by digging up gold. Sooner or later they'll figure out that they're working for a living, and that there's no buried gold at Digby, but in the meantime, the other mice are having a lot of fun laughing at them.

Similar to their big brother, the Big Bad Burroughs mouse, but smaller and cuter, Itty-Bitty Burroughs mice pop up everywhere in Digby-- which explains why many residents have taken to carrying mallets around with them on a daily basis. Itty-Bitties use their drill-like mouth to propel them underground, which means that one minute, they're snatching a forbidden piece of cheese, and the next they've disappeared down a tunnel too small for human hands.

The tunnels below Digby are a dark and scary place for some mice, which is why these magical mice have adapted to emit a romantic purple glow designed to make hunters a little more compassionate towards them. If you suddenly feel the urge to join the NVMRC, don't worry; it's perfectly normal.

Digby may be full of researchers and engineers, but it's the Miner Mice who have refined cheese theft down to a science. The drills on the front of their vehicles (known affectionately among the scientists as 'Trap Trashers'), allow Miners to penetrate to even the most secure subterranean chamber. Once they reach the area in question, the drills double as a trap destruction device, while the precision pincer arm reaches in to nab the cheese.

These partially blind little fellows find their way through the earth by feeling around, making them more susceptible to getting caught. The Digby development in the Burroughs aided their efforts to push past the Mountain into the Gnawnia region. Due to the dirt in their nostrils, they have a harder time sniffing out cheese.

Nugget mice never grow very big, and are not very good at getting anywhere fast. When the other mice were handing out jobs, they decided the Nuggets were no competition for the likes of the Big Bad Burroughs clan. After all, Nuggets can't smash or bend or bury anything. . . and yet, the little Nuggets lead a peaceful life, gathering little bits of things that they find on the ground and hoping that they might prove useful. They're fond of shiny beetle shells, and like to form collections.

With a stomach full of rocks, these mice are not often seen moving quickly. Slow and slightly dim-witted, these mice lumber around the tunnels of Digby looking for tasty pieces of stone, occasionally shouting, with a full mouth, "Nom, nom... This rock tasty!".
