Star Atlas Sky Charting FAQ

Q: I have discovered certain star, will I finish the entry automatically?

A: No.

If it is a quest, you need to re-do the quest.

If it is a map, you need to report the discovery card to any noble, preferably Galileo at PisaPisa, then re-discover the star

If it is a discovery that requires no quest or map, but just requires you to do RecognitionRecognition in certain sea region, you need to also report the discovery to any noble first before you can finish that Discover or Observe entry



Q: My sail days entry do not increase even though I have been sailing for a long time. What happens here?

A: Make sure you sail at the correct coordinate.

For Northern Sky, you need to sail anywhere north of (–, 4096)

For Southern Sky, you need to sail anywhere south of (–, 4096)



Q: How many stars can I chart for now?

A: As for the current patch update, there are 20. There will be more later.



Q: Can I just anchor my ship outside port to finish the “sail for x days” entry?

A: Yes, as long as you are in the correct coordinate.



Q: Is there any time limit for this sky charting?

A: No. This is a permanent feature. However, there is a time-limited Polaris event for this.



Q: What is with the symbolic entry?

A: You need to discover certain discoveries related to the current star investigation. Refer to Star Atlas List for details



Q: What is the reward of doing this?

Similar to sea or land charting, you can report to Galileo after completing certain numbers of investigations for reward. Talk to Galileo after finishing Star Atlas: Ursa MinorUrsa Minor investigation for details.

In addition, there is a time-limited Polaris event currently happening.




Q: Is Sky charting good or fun?

A: It is relative. If you like adventuring, then yes.
