Named for Andromeda, daughter of Cassiopeia in the Greek myth, who was chained to a rock to be eaten by the sea monster Cetus. It is said to be the form of Andromeda ascending to the heavens after her death. Andromeda gave birth to six children with Perseus, and it is said that the eldest child Perseus became the descendant of the Persian Royal Family.
