Aramaic Letter
During the fifth century BC, a papyrus of a letter that seemed to be written by a Jew who lived in Elephantine in the southern parts of Egypt. Egypt of that time was under the rule of the Persian kingdom, and there were a number of residential areas for Jewish mercenaries there as well.
