Chinchorro Mummies
Mummies from the South American Chinchorro culture. They are considered older than the Egyptian mummies. It is often the case that children and babies received the most elaborate mummification treatments. In the Chinchorro culture, they performed mummification on not only those who had power but also all members of their society.
