European Ground Squirrel
A squirrel found throughout eastern Europe, which grows to a length of approximately 20 centimeters. They live in colonies of individual burrows in pastures or grassy embankments. They feed upon seeds, plant shoots, and roots, and have a habit of taking food back to their nest by carrying it in their mouths.
