Fort of Qaitbay
A fortress located on the peninsula of Alexandria. After the Lighthouse of Alexandria was destroyed from an earthquake in the 14th Century, Sultan Qaitbay of the Mamluk Empire built this fortress on its site. It is believed that materials from the destroyed lighthouse was reused for the fortress.
