Girl with a Pearl Earring
Also known as 'Girl with the Turban,' this painting was created by the Netherlandish artist Johannes Vermeer. It is sometimes called the 'Mona Lisa of the North' because of the large depiction of a young girl, who appears to be smiling faintly.
