A gold coin depicting the ruler of the Kievan Rus', Vladimir the Great. The Grand Prince, a skilled diplomat and politician, married the younger sister of the Eastern Roman Emperor, Basil the 2nd, and contributed to the strengthening of the Kievan Rus'.
