Procyon
Forms one of the three vertices of the Winter Triangle asterism, in combination with Sirius and Betelgeuse. Belonged to the constellation Canis Minor, and the name means 'before the dog' in Greek. In ancient Egypt, it's an important star due to it rising before Sirius indicating the Nile flooding.
