A new star which emerged in the constellation of Cassiopeia in 1572. It is occassionally referred to as Tycho's Star after the Danish Astronomer, Tycho Brahe, left his detailed records of the star. He suggested that it was not even a planet, but a fixed star in the stellar sphere beyond all the planets after he had found that it did not change its position.
