The Crucifixion of Christ
El Greco's painting. The picture shows Jesus suspended from the cross and is composed with symmetry to the left and right with Christ's white body twisted so that he faces the sky. Because it ignored the religious symbolism of the time such as halos, it was not officially recognized at first.
