The Forme of Cury
A cookery book written for the royalty and the aristocracy in England in the 14th century, which uses terms derived from French. The book is said to have been compiled by the chef of Richard II and contains many dishes using sugar which was rare at the time as well as spices and herbs from India, Asia, and the Middle East.
