The Great Sphinx of Giza
A giant statue sitting next to the pyramid at Giza. It has the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion. In ancient Egypt it embodied the glory of the great pharaoh. On the other hand, in Greek mythology, it was considered a monster, with the face of a woman, the body of a lion, and the wings of a falcon.
