The Pieta
A marble statue by Michelangelo. An image of the Virgin Mary embracing the executed body of Jesus. This vivid depiction of the human form and the pleats in the clothes make it hard to believe that this is cold stone. Mary appears to be young compared to Jesus, but this is simply one form of expression.
