The River Niger
A large river that flows through the centre of West Africa. It has wide curves. It's possible to sail upstream in a small ship, and it acts as an important traffic route for the area. It is believed that upstream is a city called Timbuktu that has flourished for hundreds of years, but it cannot be reached in an ocean faring ship.
