The Statue of Bastet
A statue of Bastet, an ancient Egyptian female deity with the form of a cat, or the head of a cat. Because of their ability to catch snakes, cats were highly valued. Eventually they were worshipped as gods. Bastet is the guardian of cats and also the goddess of love.
