The Statue of Makemake
Makemake is a god that was worshipped from on Rapa Nui before Moai. Those given the honour of becoming a birdman (Tangata Manu), who are sid to be Avatars of Makemake, were given control of the island. This led to Makemake becoming a central religious figure among those worshipped by on Rapa Nui.
